Inhaltsangabe: Am Briefkopf eigenhändig: "Pour mon Neveu sur la petite machine balistique". Der Brief enthält Kommentare zu Joh. III B.s Aufsätzen "Sur la cohérence des corps, Second Mémoire. Problemes sur la force et la courbure des lames élastiques" und "Sur la cohérence des corps. Troisieme Mémoire. Problemes sut la résistance des poutres" (Mémoires Berlin 1766 (1768), pp.99-107 und pp.108--116. Da der Auszug auf den 15. August datiert ist und der Druck nicht vor 1768 vorlag, ist der Brief nach diesem Datum anzusetzen
