Bemerkung: 1930s correspondence mostly about synaptic transmission and Acetyilcholine. Two letters (4.3.36 and 1.7.37) touch upon Eccles' decision to leave Great Britain to Australia. 1.7.37. Fulton congratulates Eccles upon the work on smooth muscle with Magladery (J Phys 90, 1937) "these two contributions put the whole question of smooth muscle into an adequate perspective and they will do a lot to offset the dismal confusion which has been created by Rosenblueth and the sheep at Harvard who have been following him in his quagmire" 1940s correspondence contains reference to war research in UK, US and Australia (e.g. 4.1.43; 12.8.43) 3.12.40 Fulton reports on the war research being performed in Oxford, Cambridge and London 5.2.47. Fulton comments enthusiastically on Eccles' report on his visit to USA. Mentions his present involvement with the lobotomists, "who haven´t the faintest idea what they are doing to the frontal lobe". A large part of the correspondence (esp in the late 1940s and in 1950) is of an editorial kind, re publications in the Journal of Neurophysiology.
